Credit Card Both Ways?

with one comment

credit card

Wait! Does this mean I can put my credit card in either way?????  It would still be easier to just wave my phone over some pad.

Remote Simplification

without comments

A year ago I wrote a paper about “Pre-Attentive Processing and Organization of the TiVo DVR Remote Control”, basically how the placement and coloring of buttons on the remote help you to organize them into groups.

Remotes

When I saw this technique I thought about what it’s like having to use someone else’s remote that you might not be familiar with, especially one that is not designed as well as the TiVo remote. Consider using this for when you have someone over to house sit.

I saw this Earth Brooch an thought of all my geocaching friends who love topo maps. If I had a favorite hiking place, I’d totally get one of these.

Depositing Checks with the iPhone

without comments

I used to hate depositing checks. Having to fill out that silly form and then bring it to the bank or put it in the envelop at the ATM. Then, they got rid of the envelops and I could just slide the check into the ATM and see the check on the screen. I no longer dreaded putting money into my bank account.

Then I saw this demonstration, the ability to deposit money into your account with the iPhone. It’s sooo cool! I have no idea what happens behind the scenes to make it work, but I don’t really care. BoA, when are you going to get this???

I appoligize for the infomercial style. Skip to 1 minute in for the start of it and 1:40 for the start of the deposit.

Counter Stairs

without comments

I recently posted about the skinny stairs, which provided a space saver for those small city apartments. However, that’s not always feasible for those who may not be as skilled at walking down the stairs as others. Well for you I present the counter stairs:

Cool Typefaces

Andrew Byrom has created some cool typefaces, most not intended to be used in word processors, or even computers for that matter.

Skinny Stairs

without comments

In small city apartments or condos, space is everything! Misterstep has created a staircase which addresses this issues of tight space. Afterall, you really only step on half of the stair each time, anyway.

Anti-Paparazzi Device

without comments

This will come in handy when I become famous! It’s a purse with a built in flash trigger light. Surprised no one has thought of this before. Then again, I think secretly some people want to be captured by the paparazzi.

Universal Cell Phone Chargers

without comments

Oh no, you’ve just left for a long weekend and you forgot your cell-phone charger. Maybe your friend has the same phone as you? Nope. Maybe you can just leave your phone off for most of the weekend to converse battery power? Well, in the future [or just the EU], everyone will have the same chargers, microUSB. And good, because my GPS can be powered by that too!
