I recently purchased the t-shirt that I mentioned in “Lens Bracelets” from Photojojo. Whether it was due to user error or a usability issue (not important in this story) I accidentally switched up my billing address and shipping address. When I got my confirmation e-mail I noticed this and proceeded to contact them to change it.

When I clicked on the “Contact Us” link in the e-mail I arrived at a simple form to submit a question to them. However, what wasn’t simple was their way of verifying that I was in fact human. Instead of using a CAPTCHA – as most websites do – they were able to incorporate their specialty (photography) and also not have to annoy their customers by being unable to read the letters. My only question is if it’s just as effective at stopping spam.

Find a problem, and create a design to fix it.  That’s exactly what the people at Samsung have done. Presenting the Dual View TL222:

I mean, I’m sure we’ve all taken a photo of ourselves and others and tried to guess or not if we’re in the frame. The only bad thing about this is that the advertisement doesn’t depict this self-photo taking…

I used to hate depositing checks. Having to fill out that silly form and then bring it to the bank or put it in the envelop at the ATM. Then, they got rid of the envelops and I could just slide the check into the ATM and see the check on the screen. I no longer dreaded putting money into my bank account.

Then I saw this demonstration, the ability to deposit money into your account with the iPhone. It’s sooo cool! I have no idea what happens behind the scenes to make it work, but I don’t really care. BoA, when are you going to get this???

VueZone.com claims to be “the easiest and simplest way to remotely view your family, your home, your business…virtually anything, from anywhere, at anytime.” It works on web browsers and mobile devices. I think it is a really good idea, especially for people traveling a lot or vacation homes. The cameras aren’t for sale yet, they claim coming this summer. The two camera package starts at $299 and additional cameras coming in at $99. It’s not a bad investment for some people. Their UI seems pretty simplistic and easy to use at first glance. I think it’s a good option to be able to share with your “friends”. I’m thinking it would be helpful for my parents to be able to have access to my grandparent’s or aunt’s house while they’re on vacation.
